Michelle Parker, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist

About Michelle
Michelle Parker holds a Licensed Clinical Social Worker license in Texas and Washington State.  Ms. Parker graduated from Walla Walla University’s School of Social Work. Michelle worked with families at different stages of life and during different life transitions.

Michelle began working with young parents in Head Start to prepare children for Kindergarten readiness by understanding what challenges parents might have or what skills they could share with their child’s teacher. She’s joined with refugees from East and West Africa in homeless shelters who are raising school-age children. She helped parents navigate the school systems and learned more about African culture through potlatch meals.  Also, as children needed to make difficult end of life decisions for their parents and our elders were learning to navigate government systems, Michelle helped them to understand what their options were.

Most recently, Michelle has worked with military members and their families, visiting Reserve units in 17 states of our Union. Not only did this give her an opportunity to learn how to help people coping with stressors like sleep, relationship problems, budgeting, parenting issues, and post-deployment stress. It also gave her a chance to decide where next to call home. For the past few years, Michelle and her family have called Texas their home.
